Sustainable Metal Recycling with Over 60 Years of Expertise
Founded on 7th November 1960 by Henry Albert (Harry) Mason, H.A. Mason (Metals) Ltd. has a proud tradition in metal recycling. With 35 years of foundry experience, Harry started the business with a second-hand lorry and his three sons—Errol, Roy, and Ron—building a strong, family-driven operation.
In 1963, the company moved to its current site on Two Woods Lane and has since become a key player in resource recovery. Over the years, Mason Metals has built lasting partnerships with households, charities, schools, and businesses across the Black Country and beyond. We process metals in any quantity, from small amounts to bulk loads, preparing them for recycling furnaces worldwide.
In November 2006, Andrew Jones became Managing Director, bringing over a decade of company experience. His vision combines our core values with investment in modern equipment and technologies to drive growth and sustainability.
With a strong track record, Mason Metals Ltd is the premier choice for scrap metal recycling in the West Midlands, committed to responsible resource management and a sustainable future.

Supporting the Local Economy and Embracing the Circular Economy
At Mason Metals Ltd, we are committed to strengthening the local economy by supporting the West Midlands’ thriving metalworking and manufacturing sectors. The region’s production creates valuable scrap, which we process and recycle, supplying UK foundries—many of which are based right here in the West Midlands.
Our approach aligns perfectly with the principles of the Circular Economy, which promotes:
- Waste reduction
- Increased resource productivity
- A more competitive UK economy
- Addressing future resource security
- Minimising environmental impact, both domestically and internationally (Source: WRAP).
This ethos also aligns with the Waste Hierarchy, prioritising Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Recovery over landfill.
Once processed at our DY5 site, many scrap grades are melted and recycled into new materials, reducing costs and carbon emissions. By choosing Mason Metals, you not only receive competitive prices for your scrap metal but also contribute to the local Circular Economy, creating jobs and supporting local businesses.
We provide full documentation to help you meet your legal Duty of Care and demonstrate your commitment to sustainability—enhancing your business’s green profile.
